He has recorded for Columna Música, Pan Classics and Harmonia Mundi. His recordings have received such awards as the Diapason d'Or (three times), “Choc” from Classica, “Maestro” from Pianiste, “Excepcional” from Scherzo, and the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik”. His most recent recording, Bach’s monumental Goldberg Variations, has been considered by several publications a substantial contribution to the work’s large discography (Scherzo, Qobuz, CdClassico.com, etc.). Diego Ares has taught harpsichord, fortepiano and Basso Continuo at the Hochschule der Musik in Trossingen (Germany). Diego Ares teaches harpsichord at Geneva’s Conservatoire de Musique.
