We are happy to sponsor the Edinburgh International Harp Festival 2018 by providing the wine used during the extended interval for its Opening Concert, featuring Ailie Robertson, Mairi Rankin, and Ismael Ledesma. We invite you to support the EIFH by attending. About the Artists Rankin Robertson: Scotland meets Cape Breton Island in this unique fusion of harp, fiddle and stepdance. Ailie Robertson is one of Scotland’s finest clarsach players, and is in great demand worldwide as a performer and teacher. Mairi Rankin is of the hugely influential Rankin Family. She plays fiddle and step-dances up a storm. Born in Mabou, Nova Scotia, Mairi has been influenced by some of the best Cape Breton traditional musicians. The two have been playing together for nearly a decade in their band The Outside Track, but this is their Scottish debut as a duo. Ismael Ledesma: Born in Paraguay, where he played harp from the age of 5, Ismael later moved to Paris where he worked with the many Paraguayan artistes resident in France. He has shared his sensitive interpretation of traditional music and original ground breaking compositions with delighted audiences throughout the world. “…Ismael and his harp take you gently on a musical guided tour of his life.” “…Ismael Ledesma effortlessly invokes the strangeness of the rain forest, the sinister power of a river…and the sweetness of a lullaby.” FRI 30 March | 7.30 - 10.00pm Memorial Hall from Institut Français Écosse http://www.ifecosse.org.uk/We-Support-Edinburgh-International.html via IFTTT via https://onlinevideoproduction.tumblr.com/post/172375867042
